Designer/stylist/writer/photographer/artist that has fashion running through her veins. Her grandmother Graciela Gonzalez, always the fashion plate, designed and made clothing for high profile clients in Colombia. Her mother, Martha Szoenyi, hobnobbed with the creative set, dressed in her signature elegant yet bohemian style. Aunt “Titi” Pilar’s flawless aesthetic, which always had a finger on the pulse of what was on trend, was always a great inspiration.

After attending FIDM for Fashion Design and SFSU for Journalism, Alex started making jewelry, accessories and eventually clothing under the SZOENYI name. Her love of “anything vintage” led to her becoming a vintage buyer and seller. She is also a Personal Stylist at Nordstrom San Francisco Centre, freelance styles, throws her ARTISTRY: A Melange of All Things ART shows, designs and creates for the SZOENYI brand, and is a fashion and pop culture writer. She writes for her blog “PEEP THE POP!!!,” as well as Examiner.com as their SF Fashion Examiner. Her aim is to dabble more in photography, music, modeling and art.

SF BAY GUARDIAN PICKS BIANCA STARR "the STARR"

BEST BOUTIQUE STARR

Is there anything that Bianca Starr owner Bianca Kaplan can't do? After moving on from bangin' DJ spot, 222 Hyde, Kaplan turned her eyes from beats to threads — secondhand designer label threads, which her Mission boutique sells to all the fly ladies looking for a clubby, classy, strappy looks (with just a hint of "Dynasty" decadence and chola sass) in which to creature up the night. Dresses, separates, handbags, belts, jewelry, and footwear: no detail is overlooked. Always collaborative, Kaplan picks chic up-and-coming designers to feature at her packed monthly stylist boutique events, and hands them the reigns to her racks for the night. And if you happen to stroll past Bianca Starr (so-called for her childhood friend's coolest name ever) on a sunny day, you might just catch Kaplan and her girlfriends lounging streetside with a bottle of champagne. Wearing the cutest frocks you've ever seen, natch.

How To Be A Lady -

Julianne and I had a fabulous time last Thursday putting the finishing touches on the window display for the opening of the Stylist Boutique. It was also clearly documented by the Chronicle who happened to be there snapping shots for a story that will be featured in this Sunday's paper. Broken glass, broken mirrors, dried roses, pantiless mannequins and quotes from the book titled "How To Be A Lady"......... are the visuals that you will see when you pass by our storefront;....... Her collection on the rack is a reflection of her unique style and ranges anywhere from lama hippie to sheek physique. Come and check it.....

Born and bred in Austin, TX, Julianne Moeller began her career in fashion when she moved to San Francisco in 2005 to work as the head buyer for local boutique Riley James. After delving into the boutique business she found her true calling in re-inventing the style of others and decided to work on her own as a personal shopper and stylist. Moeller found a true connection with styling upon seeing the confidence and fulfillment her work provided. The ability to understand what a person needs to be comfortable then enabling the transformation is why she remains a stylist to this day. Her successes in personal styling have also led her to style photoshoots with top photographers for leading San Francisco magazines and work with the most influential brands in design.
