This brings us to the bountiful space between 20th and 21st streets between Mission and Valencia, where 4 new shops have popped up in the last 6 months. Raise a glass with us and enjoy some special deals just for Bold Italic readers.

Bianca Starr, a chic and highly curated vintage store, will be spinning nightclub-worthy beats, passing the prosecco and offering 20% off everything in the store except jewelry.

Mission: Comics & Art, part comic book store and part art gallery, will be passing out beers from Firestone Brewing, playing host to artist Josh Ellingson, and giving a 20% discount on everything in the store. The Spotted Rooster will be there hawking their famous organic black beans and rice and Stack's Coop will be purveying some of their fine fried chicken sandwiches.

Gravel & Gold, seller of things to wear, adorn, hear, read, furnish and love up, will be pouring beers from Firestone Brewery and offering 20% off their hand-picked vintage clothing selection.

Her Majesty's Secret Beekeeper, the hub for all things around producing, enjoying and even drinking local honey, will be having honey and mead tastings throughout the evening and giving 10% off of their premium pots of honey.

Congratulations to the Burrito Brothers Miguel & Victor Escobedo for being featured on the Food Network's Throwdown with Bobby Flay and thank you for letting us be a part of it... It means so much! The Triple Threat Burrito blew away Bobby's version of a burrito which proved he seriously is a GREEN GO!

BKC presents: Le Cirque @ Yoshi's with Jazzy Jeff and Cassandra's birthday ~ Thank you guys for treating us so kindly. Your hospitality is a reflection of your style. Classy and Sophisticated. Cassandra's 27th birthday was done right. We danced all night. We even did a quick peep through to PST afterwards. We caught the last song and decided enough was enough since we KNEW what was in store for us the next night.



And then came FRIDAY.


Cassandra and I stopped by the Opening Ceremony celebration at Levi's downtown. Bianca Starr took part in their guerilla marketing campaign which consisted of corduroy wrapped mannequins all around the city we call home. Of course we were honored to be part of such a great collabo. So if you wondered what that mustard colored thing was in my window, now you KNOW! We had enough time to chat with some peeps, try some mini corndogs and a glass of champers and then we were OFF!




My favorite artist ever performed at the AMAZING FOX Theatre last night. Of course, we rolled VIP steeze and sang along to every song our E. BADU performed. I LOVE HER~ Thank you ANKH Marketing for throwing an AMAZING SHOW! It was the first urban show at the FOX and it was completely SOLD OUT! Afterwards we made our way to the New Parish for the AFTA PARTAY! We ran into Chef Sarah Kirnon (formerly of Front Porch in SF) who is currently making delicious food at Hibiscus Restaurant which is located at 1745 San Pablo Avenue in the Town adjacent to the New Parish... Music and fashion are often so intrinsically connected, it's hard to tell where one starts and the other stops. Which came first? Fall Out Boy or the emo haircut? So it should be no surprise that the impeccable taste that Bianca Starr brought to operating the former nightlife wonderland Club 222, now techno hotspot 222 Hyde, also carries over into the world of clothing with her new vintage boutique. The concept is providing carefully edited and cleaned pieces that appeal to Bianca herself (the store motto is "If we wouldn't wear it, we wouldn't sell it"), all in a fun, collaborative, friendly setting that includes rotating DJs playing every weekend.

And just as you might expect, she's kicking off the store's opening with a party worthy of a nightclub . Beats will be provided by Rebecca Vandersteen, Sybil Johnson of Heartbaker, DJ Irene Hernandez-Feiks of Chillin' Productions, and DJ Miss Watkins, while shoppers enjoy baked goods, champagne, and special deals like 25 percent off all dresses and discounts on jewelry (it is the day before Valentine's Day, after all).

It's always an honor to be asked to be part of an event hosted by the most professional power couple ever. That's why when Jeffrey Paradise and Ava Berlin asked me to be one of the "celebrity judges" at the MISS BLOW UP USA Pageant, I jumped at the opportunity. The pageant was held at the Rickshaw Stop in SF. The lovely La Monistat was the hostess of the event and what a hostess she was. My co-judges were Giancarlo Vega and the gorgeous Ms. Christel McLean.
