BIANCA STARR Styling presentation at the Infinty Club, SF

Public Speaking? OKAY! I was pleased to be asked by Owen Geronimo and the team at San Francisco Fashion and Merchants Alliance to be a guest speaker on styling and present 3 looks to SF's finest. I started off my 15 - 20 minute presentation with an intro about my first fashion inspirations. I couldn't help but to tell the story of how my mom always told me that she loved the name Bianca from hearing it back in the day as being Mick Jagger's wife. BIANCA JAGGER was a fashion icon. She was a fixture at Studio 54 and best friend to Andy Warhol. Her style was unique beyond compare. She was classy but edgy. Fashion forward, but respectful. The best part about her that I could relate to was that she was latina. Mommy, thank you for making me cool from the very start. I love you!

The presentation was held at the gorgeous penthouse at the Infinity Club. I made many connections in the fashion scene in SF and was greeted afterwards with people wanting to take my photo and telling me how much they loved it. I hope to work with them in the future on many other projects. Here are some pics of the night...

Styling with photographer Joshua

It wasn't too long ago that my girl Faith Garcia asked me to style her for a shoot with Joshua Morrison Farria. She described it as being on a ferry and that she needed to look as though she was going on a trip. It came easy to me. I dressed her in a sophisticated look with blue slacks, a white silk low cut blouse and a salmon blazer that fit her waist like a glove. Her accessory? A vintage brown luggage. Done. It didn't take long after that for Joshua and I to link up on another project. I was lucky to work with a photographer who with a few sentences could describe what he was looking for. I get him. He gets me. It works. Looking forward to more projects and future collaborations with him. Check out his blog: http://joshfarria.com/

I had to write a bio ~ First time/rough draft

BIANCA STARR is a SF native who resides in the Mission district in SF. She recently owned a boutique called BIANCA STARR which sold unique vintage items focusing on glamour and sophistication. The store motto was “A womens boutique where you leave your inhibitions at the door”. BIANCA STARR holds accolades as being the best in the bay area by the SF Guardian, 7 x 7 Magazine, 944 Magazine, SF Weekly and was featured on the cover of the STYLE section for the SF Chronicle. BIANCA STARR has also been featured in LUCKY Magazine for the creative concept of the STYLIST Boutique where she featured different stylists in SF to come and hold a special rack of their own items they have used for shoots to be put on consignment for the month, She works now as a freelance stylist for different agencies after realizing her passion wasn’t in retail as it was in putting outfits together and being creative in the process. Before her fashion career, BIANCA STARR owned and created the thriving nightclub 222 HYDE for 6 years before selling it. In addition to being an entrepreneur, she dabbles in event production and most recently produced an 8 day flea market event for American Apparel at Fort Mason. She is looking to launch her website in April this year and will be producing her own fashion show on April 5, 2012.

So much fun. Ania x BIANCA STARR Styling x Henry Alfonso Navarro
